Twilight - Chapters 1-9

I really love this book. I just got it Wednesday and I really have a hard time putting it down. Especially the last two chapters, 8 and 9.

First off I am very intrigued and puzzled by the Preface of the book. I am wondering what the full story to that is....

Bella, the new girl in a small town, who gets asked out by 3 boys in one day. That was funny. But she is not interested in any of them. She has this obsession with Edward and at first she cant seem to figure him out.
Then he comes out of nowhere and saves her from being squished by a car. WOW. I love how he tries to avoid the truth that he obviously has incredible speed and strength.

Chapter 8, when Bella takes a wrong turn, gets lost and is being cornered by the 4 men. It was like watching a movie and being on the edge of my seat, I wanted to cover my face with my hands in suspense, but then I would not have been able to hold the book to keep reading. I was reading as fast as I could to find out what was going to happen. (Right now I am typing as fast as I can trying to get my thoughts out). Then Edward her Hero shows up out of nowhere and saves her yet again. WOW, I loved it.
Now she finally knows the truth. Edward is a Vampire.

Quote from the end of chapter 9:
"About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was part of him - and I didn't know how potent that part might be - that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him."

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
This is my first time reading this so please do not leave comments with any spoilers. Thanks.

I read Twilight recently also. I can very much see why it's become almost a cult following it. Stephanie Meyer is an awesome writer.

That's a nice idea. Unfortunate for me that I can't even get through the book I'm trying to read now, let alone start another and keep up. haha Timing...always about timing.

I'll follow along and maybe catch up to ya eventually.

What I love about Stephenie Meyer's books is how she takes these love stories that are absolutely implausible and makes every woman who reads them swoon like a teen. Like really how rational is Bella behaving here? And yet you're thinking, "more, more, give me more!"

I love it! My husband hates it.

Have you read the excerpt from 'The Host' that she has up (if it's still up) it's just like the first little bit of the book and I wasn't interested in reading that book till I read the excerpt.

It's so ridiculous! The Heroine meets this guy in the most dangerous of situations and five minutes later their kissing and my heart was fluttering like a fifteen year old's! I'm nearly 30 years old I didn't know I could react like that anymore.
